Music Matbakh

I was lucky this week to be invited by one of my friends to a musical concert in Amman-Jordan. The band is called “Music Matbakh”, and Matbakh means kitchen in Arabic.

What caught my attention was how Music Matbakh was a mixture of different musicians from the Middle East, North Africa and UK. This group was brought together by the help of the British Council and they presented them so far in UK, Egypt and Jordan, the group will be also traveling to Syria and Tunisia soon.

The music that they played was a mixture of hip hope, rock and electronic music to Oud, Nay. At the beginning when my friend told me about it I had no idea what are they planning to play. But as soon they started playing the music I found my self enjoying it so much. My favorite member of the band was the Lebanese rapper called RGB, he was so good in the first two songs.

Music Matbakh performed thirteen songs, but I remembered at the end that I can use my camera to take a low quality videos. So at the end I recorded the last 5 songs. I hope you enjoy watching the videos as it is a different style of music that mixes Middle Eastern and Western music.
